Golden Harvest Whampoa: A Cinematic Experience by ARTTA Concept Studio

Revolutionizing Cinema Design with a Film Production Set Twist

The inspiration for the design came from the desire to combine the characteristics of an industrial building and a film production studio. The aim was to create an environment where customers feel as though they are in the middle of a film set. The design is a reimagined film studio with an ARTTA Concept Studio twist.

The unique properties of the design lie in its cinematic atmosphere. White aluminium cladding, black triangle bars, and spotlights on the ceiling in the lobby and gourmet concierge create the feel of a film set. The box office combines a variety of materials, from carpets to tile flooring and marble desktops to wood-like ceilings, all under blue wall wash lights and LED backdrop lights, creating an elegant and luxurious environment.

The design was realized using a variety of materials, including metal, tiles, wood, aluminium cladding, glass, cement, timber, carpet, and steel. The project covers an area of 2,100 SQM and is located in 2/F, Screen World, Whampoa Gourmet Place (Site 8), Hunghom, Kowloon.

The design process involved extensive research. The designers recognized that customers go to the cinema to watch a film, and creating a film production set before they walk into the houses makes them feel as though they are a part of the film. This creates an exciting atmosphere for the customers. The main challenge was working with different ceiling levels. The solution was to create a film production roof with metal bars in the gourmet concierge, which became the main feature and helped make the different height levels look even.

The Golden Harvest Whampoa cinema design is a testament to ARTTA Concept Studio's innovative approach to design. The studio's work has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award, a prestigious accolade awarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
